Fauquier Historical Society
Hear from the son of this famous Cold War figure about the research he has done to dispel the misinformation about his father and the U-2 Incident.
Gary Powers, Jr. is the author Enemy Territory (2022), Spy Pilot (2019), and Letters from a Soviet Prison (2017). He is the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of The Cold War Museum located at Vint Hill, VA and was the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee for the Cold War Theme Study which assisted the National Park Service to identify historic Cold War sites for preservation.
His local roots stem from his great-great grandfather, Warrenton dentist Dr. Hodgskin, whose dental equipment and instruments are on display at the Fauquier History Museum.

This tour takes you to the side streets of Old Town to learn the location of businesses such as mills, merchants, tinsmiths, carpenters, wagon and harness makers, tailors, milliners, blacksmiths, and other trade businesses and services. The tour will end at the Warrenton Branch Greenway Caboose, which is celebrating it's 25th Anniversary Caboose Open House, hosted by Fauquier County Parks and Recreation.
