MENOKIN: The Glass House Project

Learn about the most engaging preservation project in America! Menokin was the 1769 home of Francis Lightfoot Lee, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. The home fell into ruin, but is being saved through great effort by the Menokin Foundation. The missing portions of the original house are being replaced with architectural glass. Members of the Menokin preservation staff will be the featured speakers at the Annual Membership meeting of the FHS. The event is FREE and open to the public. Culpeper Street History Indoor Presentation

Learn about the early beginnings of Warrenton and Fauquier County, the historic home, businesses, and architectural styles along this street. Also the influential figures who lived, worked, and built along Culpeper Street. You will learn of hidden details you’ve likely walked past for years. Length of talk approximately 90 minutes. Historic Helmets from the Ages

A day of Show and Tell presented educational program by three local historical collectors: Scott Van Ness, Greg Hall and Kevin French. Learn about and see this collection of historic helmets. If you have one bring it to share. Exhibit is free with museum admission.
